The mission of knowledge based bio-economy (KBBE) projects is to put special emphasis on useful knowledge which can be taken up directly by commercial and industrial companies and other users. The business background of the SME partners will secure that the practicality and usability of the output of ARANGE will meet this targets. The SME members in the project consortium will benefit from close collaborative cooperation with academic partners to develop further their ecosystem services (ES) assessment tools, link their tools to forest dynamics models to improve predictive capacity and, ultimately, use improved and new planning tools for commercial services in multi-functional mountain forest management. SMEs as well as forest resource managers, land owners and political decision makers in the case study regions will be invited to join the regional stakeholder panels and will be a target group in dissemination activities which will include the training workshops in case study regions at the end of the project lifetime.
